The patient’s primary physician will continue to direct medical care. Licensed nurses are on site twenty-four hours, seven days a week to assist and care for patients. Palliative care, using the team approach, provides the services that people need at the end-of-life, including pain management, social, psychological, spiritual and bereavement care.

Patients are included in decisions about their care and helped to maintain their dignity. Families are helped to prepare emotionally for death, to be there for their loved one as fully as possible, and to grieve in a healing way. Support for bereaved family members continues for a year to following a death.
